Read with one MX query per domain through Cloudflare's DNS-over-HTTPS resolver on 5 November 2026. For comparison, 18% of all 9,894 domains in our list copy were NXDOMAIN on the same day.

The 2019 and 2024 rows carry most of the dead names. On 17 June 2019 a contributor added a set of domains, each labelled in the change as coming from email-fake.com: 74 of them .ru, such as 105kg.ru, 50set.ru and all-cats.ru. Seven years later 66 of those 74 no longer exist. On 23 April 2024, #475, "Add active domains from tempr.email", added 42 more, and 34 have since gone. That is what usually happens when a temp mail site stops renewing the cheap domains it ran.

The domains that were on the list from the start are the opposite: 28 of 40 still had a mail server on 5 November 2026, including 0815.ru, temp-mail.ru, dlemail.ru and kismail.ru.

A few listed names point their MX at Google Workspace or Yandex, mainstream hosts, so an MX check alone wouldn't flag them; the list does. A few others point at void.blackhole.mx or localhost, which can't take mail at all. If a code never shows up at an address like that, the domain is the problem, not you: see verification code not received for the other causes.
What to do with a .ru address
As a site owner, don't reject the ending: the list holds 174 .ru names, and the 49 that still receive mail are a tiny slice of a whole country's domain. Run the address through the disposable email checker, and if it passes but you're unsure, look at its MX record.

How many .ru domains are on the disposable email list?
174 in our copy (16 October 2026); the upstream list also had 174 on 5 November 2026.
Why are so many listed .ru temp mail domains dead?
Two batches. On 17 June 2019 one change added 74 .ru names collected from email-fake.com, and 66 of them were gone on 5 November 2026. On 23 April 2024, "Add active domains from tempr.email" (#475) added 42, and 34 were gone.
Should a dead domain stay on the blocklist?
Usually yes. A dropped domain can be registered again by anyone, including a temp mail service, and keeping it listed costs nothing.
Which .ru temp mail domains still work?
49 had an MX record on 5 November 2026. The oldest group holds up best: 28 of the 40 names listed since 2018 still had one.
