1. Change your choices
Use the Cookie preferences link (also in every page footer) to accept, reject or withdraw consent. Rejecting is as easy as accepting, and withdrawing stops the tags from then on.
2. What we store
| Name | Type | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
vg-consent | Local storage (essential) | Remembers your cookie choice. Holds only yes/no values and a date, no personal data | 6 months, then we ask again |
vg-geo | Session storage (essential) | Your country code, used only to apply the right privacy rules | Until you close the tab |
| Inbox and settings storage | Local and session storage (essential) | Runs your temporary inbox, as described in the Privacy Policy | See the Privacy Policy |
_ga, _ga_* | Cookies, Google Analytics 4 (analytics, optional) | Counting visits and which pages are useful. Google signals and ad personalisation are off | Up to 2 years, or until you withdraw consent (we then delete them) |
_pin_unauth, _epik | Cookies, Pinterest tag (marketing, optional, once enabled) | Measuring visits that come from our Pinterest pins | Up to 1 year |
Our country lookup uses Cloudflare, which hosts the site. It reads the country from your connection and we don't store your IP address. If we can't tell your country, we use the strictest rules (opt-in).
3. European Union, EEA, UK and Switzerland
Under the GDPR, UK GDPR, the ePrivacy rules and the Swiss FADP, optional cookies are set only after you click Accept. Our legal basis is your consent. You can withdraw it at any time with the Cookie preferences link, without affecting earlier processing. You also have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object, and to complain to your data protection authority. Contact: [email protected].
4. United States
Under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA, and similar laws in Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon and other states, analytics and marketing tags may be considered "selling" or "sharing" personal information. You can opt out with the Your Privacy Choices / Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link in the footer. We treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) or Do Not Track signal from your browser as an opt-out automatically. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13. Requests: [email protected].
5. India and Asia
For visitors in India (Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023), China (PIPL), Japan (APPI), Singapore and Thailand (PDPA), South Korea (PIPA), Indonesia, Vietnam and the rest of Asia, optional tags run only after you give clear, affirmative consent. You can withdraw it as easily as you gave it, and ask us to access, correct or erase your data at [email protected].
6. Everywhere else
We use the same opt-in approach: nothing optional runs before you accept, including in Brazil (LGPD).
7. Changes and contact
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Questions: [email protected].
