Ten-minute inboxes are fine for a single confirmation link. Plenty of real tasks take longer:
Each inbox gets one free extension. If you think you'll need more than a week, a temp address is probably the wrong tool. Use your real email or an alias (here's the difference).
| Typical 10-minute mail | Volt Ghost | |
|---|---|---|
| Default lifetime | 10 minutes, often extendable a few minutes at a time | 24 hours |
| Longest lifetime | Usually under an hour | 7 days from the free extension |
| Reopen on another device | Rarely | Yes, with the recovery link |
| Address style | Random string | Realistic name or random |
Other services change their limits over time, so treat the left column as a general pattern and check the current details on each site.
When an inbox expires, the address stops accepting mail and every stored message is deleted by our cleanup job, which runs hourly. The recovery link stops working too. That's on purpose: nothing about your temporary inbox stays on our servers longer than you chose.
No. Each inbox has one free extension. Generate a new address if you need another.
Yes. There's no paid plan and no account.
While the page is open, new mail shows up automatically, with a notice and an unread count in the tab title. There are no push notifications yet.
