Why a temp address that looks like a real name?

Most disposable email services hand out strings like [email protected]. People reading a sign-up list, and the automated filters that screen new accounts, can tell at a glance that it isn't a real person. Some forms reject it outright, and some quietly put the account into a "low trust" bucket.

Volt Ghost's Realistic style builds the local part of the address from a plausible first name, last name and sometimes a short number, the way people actually pick email addresses:

The names are generated, not taken from real people. Each address is unique while it's active, so nobody else can read your inbox.

What it helps with, and what it doesn't

A realistic name makes the address look ordinary. That helps with forms that only check whether an address "looks fake", with newsletter and download gates, and with anywhere a human will see your email.

It doesn't make a disposable domain invisible. Services that check the domain against a list of temporary-mail providers may still block it, whatever the name looks like. If a site keeps rejecting it, that site is telling you it wants a long-term address. Use your real one or an email alias for anything you'll need to keep (see temp mail vs an email alias).

How to get one

  1. The address above is already yours. The Realistic toggle is on by default.
  2. Press Copy and paste it into the sign-up form.
  3. Keep this tab open. Mail shows up in the inbox within seconds, and the page refreshes it every 7 seconds.
  4. If a message contains a verification code, Volt Ghost pulls it out into a Copy code button.

Prefer a random string? Switch to Random and you'll get a fresh address in that style.

Use it responsibly

A temp address is great for keeping marketing mail and data leaks away from your real inbox. Don't use it for banking, government services, or any account you'd be upset to lose. Once the inbox expires, nobody can receive the password-reset email, including you. Our terms also rule out using Volt Ghost for fraud, spam or getting around bans.

Questions

Is the name a real person?

No. Names are generated from common first and last names and combined at random. They don't belong to real people.

Can someone else get the same address?

Not while your inbox is active. Each address is assigned to one inbox at a time and protected by its recovery link.

Can I choose the name myself?

Not yet. Press New address until you get one you like. Each click generates a new name.
