What people mean by "10 minute mail"

"10 minute mail" has become a generic name for any instant, throwaway inbox. You open a page, get an address, receive one email, and walk away. The original idea was that the address deletes itself after ten minutes, so it can't collect spam.

The short timer is also the most common complaint. Verification emails can be delayed, some sites send the code only after a second step, and if you look away for a moment the inbox is gone. Then you have to start the sign-up again with a new address.

Why Volt Ghost lasts longer

  • 24 hours by default. Long enough for slow verification emails, second messages and "confirm your account" reminders.
  • Leave whenever you like. Your inbox is remembered in this browser, and a recovery link opens it anywhere else.
  • Still disposable. When the time is up, the address and its messages are deleted automatically. You don't need to do anything.
  • Need it gone sooner? Press New address and simply stop using the old one. Nobody else can be assigned it while it's active, and it expires on schedule.

Quick start (it really does take under a minute)

  1. Press Copy above.
  2. Paste the address into the form that's asking for an email.
  3. Watch the inbox below. It refreshes every few seconds. Codes are pulled out into a Copy code button.
  4. Done. Close the tab, or keep the recovery link if you might need the inbox again today.

Privacy tips for any throwaway inbox

  • Don't reuse a temp address for something personal. Treat each one as single-purpose.
  • Watch what you click. Disposable inboxes get the same phishing as any other. Check the link's real destination before you sign in anywhere.
  • Keep the recovery link private. Anyone who has it can read the inbox until it expires.

When the code doesn't arrive

If nothing shows up within a couple of minutes, the site may block disposable domains, or the email may be queued on their side. Our guide verification code not received walks through the usual causes and fixes, in order.
